BEYNAC-ET-CAZENAC (6 km) Overlooked by one of the most imposing fortresses of the Périgord region, the fishermen’s homes and other dwellings lean on the cliff facing the river. A meshwork of medieval lanes interlaces as they climb towards the castle ramparts. PAGE 27

FLORIMONT-GAUMIER (20 km) Center of the Dome wine revival since 1990, the village combines beautiful heritage architecture and wine tourism. A lookout tower overlooks the Moncalou winery and the walking trails through the vineyards.

VÉZAC (5 km) As well as the “Outstanding Gardens” rated Marqueyssac Gardens, the village boasts a wonderful little Romanesque church, built in the XIVth and XVth centuries and very recently restored. PAGE 27
