ALLES-SUR-DORDOGNE (12 km)
LIMEUIL (6,5 km) Distinctive medieval village, Limeuil gained a “One of the Most Beautiful Villages in France” label in 1990. At the confluence of the Dordogne and Vézère Rivers, from the noiseless village heights, admire a breathtakingly beautiful landscape. PAGE 95
MAUZAC-ET-GRAND- CASTANG (13 km) This village is situated on the right bank of the Dordogne River that forms meanders at Trémolat and Limeuil. Along the route, notice the little dry stone huts with stone slated roofs, formerly used by wine growers.
Near this village a bridge spans two
cliffs, at the meeting of the rivers. A beautiful natural phenomenon, to observe during a late summer storm. Don’t forget the rural heritage features, stone cross and fountains dotted along the landscape.
